Jonisa Cook is the Founder of The Joshua Al-Lateef Jr. Foundation and a Senior Analyst at UC Health in Cincinnati, Ohio. She brings both professional expertise and deeply personal commitment to her role as an Advisory Board Member.

The Joshua Al-Lateef Jr. Foundation was established in honor of Jonisa’s son, Joshua, who passed away at the age of six due to elopement. Transforming her pain into purpose, Jonisa has dedicated herself to advancing child safety and supporting families in the autism and neurodiverse community.

The Foundation’s mission is to provide inclusive, life-enhancing resources and advocacy for children and families. Current initiatives include:

  • Specialized support dogs placed in school districts to assist autism and neurodiverse students.
  •  Scholarships for swimming lessons, music therapy, and additional services that foster growth, safety, and joy for children.
  • Policy advocacy, including collaboration with Ohio lawmakers to advance The Joshua Alert, a proposed safety bill designed to prevent tragedies and save lives by encouraging communities to embrace the principle of “if you see something, say something.”

Through her leadership, Jonisa is building a legacy of empowerment, awareness, and action. Her vision is to ensure that every family feels supported, every child has access to enriching opportunities, and every community is equipped to protect its most vulnerable members.
